It is spinach juice
Since drinking spinach juice a few times a day, my husband doesn’t need any medication for diabetes. He tests his sugar and he’s always around 6 (108).  Mine is a bit higher than that because he doesn’t like sweets. I’m an American first and can’t pass up a small piece of something sweet after a meal. Last night it was a Weightwatchers apple bar.
If you have type 2 diabetes and you’re not a sweetaholic, try spinach juice. It’s better than taking medicine! I’m taking 1/12th the amount of Metformin that I was taking before being banded, so I’m really pleased. I was down to 1/6th before I started drinking the juice. Maybe I’ll get to the point where spinach juice does the trick. Fingers crossed!

I was also reading somewhere yesterday where people who are on an all-raw diet are cured of their diabetes completely — taking no pills or shots.
This is great! Congratulations and hope it helps you and your husband to stay healthy for many years to come!

Crazy question: do you make your own spinach juice, or do you buy a pre-done spinach juice where you live?

I make my own spinach juice. Somewhere here there’s a photo of my juicer, the Green Star, and that’s what I use. I juice one bunch of spinach, 4-6 carrots and a small piece of fresh ginger just for taste.

I have never tried spinach juice.
My mom had Type 2 diabetes and I have been watching my glucose level. When I ate out, it went up to 114. I juiced bittermelon, lemon, granny smith apple, bell pepper and cucumber and drank it about 3 times a week. I think it helped to maintain my blood sugar. When the frost was about to come, I picked as much bitter melon leaves as possible to dehydrate and then grind them in a coffee bean grinder and encapsulated them. Now my sugar is around 95 in the morning.

Good for him that you’re getting his sugar under control. I love my sweets too, the healthy sweets I do during the week. I treat myself to something decadent on the weekends.

I’ve been thinking of doing juices – especially since I have been gaining weight for no reason the past few motnhs (some times 9 lbs over night). My liver area is tender and bloated feeling.
Previously last year I lost over 90 lbs – but now eating the same whole grain, veggies and fruit I am gaining like crazy (over 40 lbs back now) – I know its water weight.
Either the congestive heart failure and\or the liver possibly.
All my doctor and cardiologist do is tell me to exercise more to the point of pain and exhaustion, which I have tried over and over and that is what started the weight gain – I blow up like a balloon, at one point my knees were twice the size of my head. Then I have to rest for weeks to get the swelling to go down some. But I know the doctors don’t believe me when I tell them I’m only eating 900 calories a day and not cheating at all and still gaining.
What kind of juice machine do you recommend?

Holy cow ! You lost 90 pounds? What a fantastic accomplishment. Sure sounds like you have a fatty liver from losing all that weight so fast. My doctor told me I have a “liver roll” above my waist from the enlarged and icky liver and that it could take up to 3 years of eating properly to clear it up.
I bought my juicer in New Zealand and it’s called a Green Star. It’s not cheap but I figured my health was worth it. The first juice I made tasted like shit but I’m getting good at it now.
Exercise is good but I don’t think it’s going to work if you’re only eating 900 calories a day. You should be dropping weight like crazy if you’re eating like that and only eating a small amount. I have lost 55 pounds in a few months and all I do is walk. I don’t eat a lot but I eat as much as you do, I suppose. I walk 30 minutes a day. No stress, no strain on the knees and I do my bit for our community because I bring a trash bag and pick up road trash along my route. I’ve met heaps of neighbors this way!

I like the idea of the trash bag – what a great idea. I also have an exercise bike – which I set up right in front of the air conditioner if needed, just need to get in the habit of using it once I start feeling better and the joints calm down.
I have a gift certificate from xmas, was suppose to be for clothes, but the store is a high end place that I would never normally buy anything from – they have a housewares dept, if they have a good juicer I think I’ll spend it on that instead of clothes.

It’s absolutely healthy but I don’t like the taste of spinach. But Popeye would like this one, hehehe.

Actually, Grillicious, raw spinach juice doesn’t taste like cooked spinach at all. I can’t describe the flavor but mixed with fresh carrot juice it just tastes “green”. Like fresh mown grass maybe. It’s quite good. The carrot juice is quite sweet so it’s very tasty. Juice today was spinach, pear, apple, carrot, ginger & kiwi fruit. Tomorrow will be spinach, red cabbage, apple, pear, carrot & ginger. My sugar level was 5.7 mmol earlier.. that’s 103 for Americans and that’s with NO medication.
